He Sent His Son

The Primary is singing this song on Easter Sunday and it has always been one of my favorites.

He Sent His Son

How could the Father tell the world
Of love and tenderness?
He sent his Son, a newborn babe
With peace and holiness.

How could the Father show the world
The pathway we should go?
He sent his Son to walk with men
On Earth that we may know

How could the Father tell the world
Of sacrifice of death?
He sent his Son to die for us
Then rise with living breath!

What does the Father ask of us?
What do the scriptures say?
Have faith, have hope, live like his Son,
Help others on their way.

What does he ask?
Live like his Son.

Temple

Nick's best friend Jason went through the Temple for the first time on Friday night. Nick and his family introduced Jason to the church several years ago, and Jason became inactive almost immediately after being baptised. It took him a while to figure things out, but now he has and he is on fire. He went through for himself for the first time on Friday night, and then April 15th will be taking his finace Brittany through for her first time, and they will be married in the L.A. Temple on April 17th. He has come so far since I first met him, and I was honored and humbled to be a part of the first of a few special days he is going to have in the coming month.

Dilemma

Nick's best friend Jason is getting married April 17th. Nick is the best man and will be lookin' smokin' hot in a tux... I need to look smokin' hot too. Anyone know where I can buy a super cute dress? I'd like to get something springy and fun, but I don't have a whole lot of money.

Sharing Time

I feel like sharing today...

Our primary class had sharing time today. It was fun and the kids seemed to enjoy it, but I am SO glad it's over... our theme was "family members have important responsibilities."

This has been a long weekend. Friday night we went over to Nick's parent's house to watch movies. Saturday I worked, then did a photo shoot for a co-worker and her family, then went to dinner and played games with Megan. Today we went to Church, had sharing time, and then I spent most of the day editing the pictures from the shoot. I'm exhausted. I'm already ready for the next weekend.

This is going to be a long week too. I don't get a day off until Saturday, which is good because it means more hours for me, but bad because it means lots of hours when I'm already tired. The one bright spot in my week is the Temple. Friday night Nick's best friend Jason (who he baptised) is going to take out his endowments. I'm so excited for him. Then he's getting married April 17th. Also exciting.

I really really like the song "Stand" by Rascal Flatts. I know it's old, but I still love the message. It's funny how the meanings of songs change depending on where you're at in life. When that song first came out, I had just been dumped by Garrett... and then Eric... and then Taylor... and then Will... all withing a time span of about 3-4 months. Ouch. I would play the song as loud it could go and sing at the top of my lungs, trying to remind myself that things would work out and that "everytime you get up and get back in the race one more small piece of you starts to fall into place." Now the song has taken on a new meaning. Things seem so hard right now. I hate my job, Nick doesn't have a job, I'm not sleeping well at night, and I can't seem to stay on top of my school work because there is just so darn much to do. The song reminds me to get back up when I'm down.

Did I mention I hate my job?

I really want it to be Christmas again so I can go see it snow at Disneyland.

My dog is so adorable. She just got groomed and looks so darn cute!

I REALLY want to go on a huge shopping spree right now. That sounds like such a wonderful stress release. Lol. I should probably find a stress release that doesn't involve eating or spending money. Any ideas.

That is my sharing time.

Still frustrated...

...But slightly less so. It only took me an hour of messing around, but I finally figured out how to do something.
One of the new things I most wanted to learn was how to make the whole image black and white with just a certain object in color. I finally figured it out. Thank goodness. I was about ready to just return the dang software. Now I'd like to figure out how to change to color of the one thing in color... One foot in front of the other I guess. But seriously, if anyone is good at this whole photo editing thing and is willing to spend a couple of hours teaching me, I'm willing to buy them lunch.

Ugh!

I just bought Photoshop so I can make my pictures look fabulous, but I'm so frustrated because I can't figure out how to do anything I want to do! I feel so stupid. Can anyone give me a photoshop tutorial?

Field on the side of the road

Saw this field on the side of the road and made Sierra pull over so I could take pictures of her.

Small Request.

Nick just lost his job, so we would appreciate it if everyone could keep us in their prayers.

Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...

Does anybody want me to take their pictures? It's been a long time since I've done a photo shoot and I'm jones'n for a fix. I really want to get better at this whole picture taking thing, but I need practice to do it! Families, couples, individuals, anybody? I'm serious.

In the Golden Afternoon...

I love flowers. I love smelling, designing, photographing, and growing them. My mom had a booth at a bridal fair a couple of weekends ago and I was able to go help her man the booth. Which brings me to weddings. I love weddings. I would love to plan, photograph, coordinate, and attend them. That would be the ultimate in cool. Seriously.

I love these bouquets. The white one is my favorite. It has hyacinth and lilac in it... two of my favorite flowers.
