I *heart* Def Leppard and Heart

Just a couple of videos I took at the Def Leppard/Heart show I went to while in Utah.  Did I forget to talk about that in the last post?  Yeah I did, but only because this deserves it's own post.  SO AMAZING.  Can't wait to go see them again next year, or whenever the next time they're in Southern California is.
Here are a couple of photos I took with my iPhone.  Pretty good for a phone camera.
Lead Singer from Heart.  She was amazing.  Her outfit, however, was not.  I want to be her when I grow up.  Please??
Def Leppard.  I love them.  So much.
Taking their final bows.  The one in the middle is Rick Allen.  He is their drummer.  He only has one arm.  He is amazing.

Catching Up.

Hi there!  I'm Kim.  What's your name?
... At least that's how I feel right now.  Things around here have been pretty crazy since we got the house.  There was lots of packing, and cleaning, and scrambling.  Then we moved.  And there was more cleaning , and UN-packing, and organizing, and deciding where to put things.  And no internet.  Hence the no posting.  But we have internet now!  Yay!
So here's a little bit of catch up on our summer:

WARNING!  This post is really long.  Sorry.

We went to the San Diego Zoo a couple of times.  We love going and have had passes for a couple of years now.  The shot of the rhinos was amazing to see in person.  The two rhinos were literally kicking the crap out of each other.  It was so cool to watch.

We went to Canada.  Vancouver to be exact.  We went for a family reunion on Nick's mom's side and turned it into a vacation as well.  Nick and I spent a few days in Vancouver exploring the city and seeing the sights before we drove out to Salmon Arm for the reunion.  The whole trip was amazing.

Canadian Maple tree.  The symbol of Canada.
We did it!  We got a certificate saying we crossed the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a huge suspension bridge over a canyon.  Pretty Cool.
Granville Island Public Market.  Really neat public market with some really amazing stuff.  I wanted to take so much stuff home, but there was no way it would have made it.  Sad face.

These were the coolest statues EVER.  There were a ton of them just randomly on a grassy area in the middle of a bunch of cross streets.  So of course I had to take my picture with each Chinaman and make the same face.  Of course.
Stanley Park Rose Gardens.  So many beautiful flowers, so little time.

The Olympic torch from the Vancouver Olympics.  The one request Nick made of the whole trip was to see this, so of course, we went.  I think he shed a single tear it was so beautiful to him.  The Canadian hockey team won gold that year, and the USA took silver (I don't want to talk about it.  It was not a happy time in the Grafton house.)
During the drive to Salmon Arm (5 hours... yuck) we decided to take our time and make stops along the way.  These are all random waterfalls we saw signs for on the side of the road and decided to stop and hike up to them.  Boy am I glad we did.  We saw some really beautiful things.

Yep.  That's a bald eagle.  Chillin on a dead tree on the side of the road.  I love Canada.
Nick and his Grandma.  I love this picture.  I wish I had a picture of my grandmother and I, so I made sure to take one of Grandma and each of the kids in Nick's family.
THE coolest electric shock warning sign EVER.

Raspberry bushes grew wild on the side of the road EVERYWHERE.  Yummy!  Best berries I've ever had.

I shot a wedding :)  It was A LOT of work.  A lot.  I actually don't like shooting weddings, at least not the reception part.  Because let's be honest, who really wants a bunch of pictures of people dancing and whatnot...  I know I didn't.  I do love shooting the romantics though.

I took a trip to Utah.  It was wonderful.  I got to see all of my freshman year BYU roommates except one (who lives in St. Louis now).  It was good for my heart and soul to see these women who helped shape me into the person I am today.
(This pic definitely inspires me to go on a diet)
While I was there I got to play a little bit with "my friend" (Shalayne's ADORABLE daughter Ada) have lunch with Caitlin and meet her super duper cute boys, hang out for a whole entire wonderful day and a little bit extra with Ashley, and even take her family portraits, take my darling Emily out to lunch to celebrate the end of her very first week at BYU (and help her be a little less homesick), and have breakfast with the wonderful Kristen.

Other fun things that we don't have pictures of:

  • We celebrated our 4 year anniversary.  We kept it low key and just went out to dinner since we were going to Canada a couple of weeks later.
  • Nick turned 30!  I got him a beautiful new home.
  • We moved into our new home.  It's wonderful.
  • I turned 26.  Nick got me a beautiful new home.
