Disneyland

I was lucky enough to get some time off work this past week so I could go to Disneyland with my friend Shalayne and her adorable family :)Shalayne, her husband Danny, and their BEAUTIFUL daughter Ada. She is so incredibly gorgeous, I couldn't stop staring at her.

She was so funny on the carosel. She was freaked out, but intrigued at the same time. She wouldn't let go of Danny, and she kept petting the horse.

Isn't she beautiful? Am I allowed to have one just like her? Please? She loved the Dumbo ride. She kept waving at Danny when they would fly by him.

It was SO much fun hanging out with them :)

Then the next day, I found out that another friend, who also lives in Utah, was down for the week, also at Disneyland! So I drove out again and hung out with Kristen and her hubby Nathan for the day. Kristen was one of my little Beehives when I was a Laurel, and now she's all grown up and married! Craziness. This is the only picture I have of them. Lol. Yay for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

I made the world's coolest Darth Vader Pirate Mustache Mr. Potato Head in California Adventure. I gave it to my brother for his birthday, because what else can you give a 19 year old guy about to leave on a mission? Okay, so not practical, but totally cool.

Catch Up Blog

I've really been a slacker when it's come to updating my blog. I just haven't really felt like updating, I mean, I don't even know if anybody reads this thing! But either way, here's what I've been up to:

This past weekend, I was able to bribe my manager to give me Friday and Saturday off so I could go watch Zack compete in the state championship. He did SOOOOOOO well!! He had personal bests in 5 of the 10 events. It was so much fun to be able to watch him compete (even with the gale force winds and the bitter cold). He is SO amazing, and SO talented! He came into the Decathlon only expected to take 10th place, but because he is such a stud, he moved up 4 places and came in 6th! My baby brother is the 6th ranked Decathlete in the state of California. How cool is that?! 100 M. One of the events he had a PR in. This is probably my favorite picture from the weekend. I'm just captivated by it.
Long Jump. Another event with a PR.
Shot put.
400 M. This race and the 1500 M were just brutal with the winds. The athletes all looked like they were going to fall over because they had to lean into the wind so much.
110 high hurdles. Another one of my favorites, and another PR for Zack.
Pole Vault. Also a PR
The medal. Notice the battle wounds. He said he caught himself with his spikes while pole vaulting.
In addition to Zack doing amazingly well, his school's team did well too! His school took first place in the meet, making them the state champions for the 3rd year in a row!
Zack with the Team's state championship trophy.

The previous Saturday, the 15th, was my sister-in-law Cassie's bridal shower. It was a very nice shower with lots of good food (these desserts were heavenly), A super fun game (planned by yours truly) with an adorable prize for first place. The flower is real, but the butterfly, unfortunately, is not. The base is a block with a little vial in it, just big enough for one flower. My mom sells them at her shop and they are SO cute.

Amazing gifts (these are the breakfast in beds trays that I made, yes MADE, for Cassie. They were the hit of the shower!! I made them out of shadow box frames and purse handles. The background is a scrapbook page using some of my favorite pictures from their engagement shoot. They were accompanied by a huge basket full of fun breakfast goodies).

And of course a couple of embarrassing (but fun for later...) gifts!!

The Grafton Girls, from left to right, Aunt Jill, Cassie, Mom, Vanessa, and Me! (Notice the fabulous red heels, and the noticably smaller waist (: )
The weekend before that was Mother's Day, and I worked my but off at the flowershop. Three 12 hour days in a row... brutal.
I'll have more to post about soon... tomorrow and Wednesday I get to hang out with my dear friend Shalayne and her family!!! I'm so excited. I haven't seen Shalayne in probably 4 or 5 years. It seriously makes my heart happy to be able to see her again!! I'll post all about it later this week. Any other old roommates who want to "come visit me" (take a vacation to southern california) are more than welcome... I can give you a personalized tour of Disneyland... and take you out to lunch... and give you a hug... please?

Baaaaahhhh....

I'm a sheep. I'm going to do what everyone else seems to have been doing lately because I have absolutely no desire to post about what has been going on in my life lately.
Several people have posted blogs about what they would do if they magically happened upon one million dollars that they could spend however they want.
This is how I would spend mine (and in this order too):

Day One:
1. Get Pregnant (this doesn't actually cost money, but it's the first thing I would do if I had money) and set aside enough money to cover pregnancy/hospital costs
2. Pay tithing
3. Pay off all our debt (My car and his credit card)
4. Buy a house
Months that follow:
5. Furnish said house with beautiful things
6. Set aside like $200-300K for investing/retirement fund
7. Buy a pair of obscenely expensive shoes, and then a lot of pairs of not so expensive shoes
8. Throw away (most likely in the form of a bonfire) ALL of Nick's clothes and buy him all new ones. He NEEDS a new wardrobe

It doesn't seem like a lot, but really all I want right now is a house and a baby, in that order. I'm tired of living with other people. I'm tired of having to wait to start a family. I'm tired of telling myself "all in the Lord's time." I just wish the Lord would hurry up and make it "His time" already!!

Stake Conference

Today our stake had a special stake conference with a VERY special guest. Elder M. Russell Ballard, an apostle of the Lord came to our stake conference and spoke to us today. We also had Elder Reynolds, our area 70, and President Morgan, the Redlands Temple President.

What a wonderful opportunity to listen to an apostle, who had an amazing message to share. I even got to shake his hand as he left the stake center. It was so incredible being that close to a chosen servant of the Lord and feeling the Spirit that surrounds him. As he entered the chapel and everyone stood, you couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the Spirit testifying of Elder Ballard's divine calling.

I know that he has been called of God to be a living prophet, seer, and revelator upon this earth. I know that President Monson is a Prophet called to lead the Church during these tumultuos times. I know my Savior lives and loves me more than I could ever imagine, and I know He loves each one of you too. I know that if you call upon Him in prayer, He listens and will answer. He knows each one of us individually and know those things we need and will provide them for us if we are faithful.
