A few months ago I had the amazing opportunity to assist the INCREDIBLE Shillawna Ruffner with a wedding. I had contacted her to set up a private mentoring session, because she is someone who's work/style/asthetic/personality/EVERYTHING I really admire and look up to, and quite frankly, aspire to be. We had a couple of private mentoring sessions, and even a hands on photo shoot where I got to shoot along side her and watch her work and soak up her awesomeness. Then she surprised me by telling me that she had a wedding coming up that she would like an assistant for and would like use me as part of the mentoring session. I almost passed out from giddyness, but quickly got myself together and had to refrain from shouting "YES YES YES!!" She just posted about the wedding on her blog, and I may or may not have cried when I saw some of my images in her post! Even though my name isn't anywhere in the post, I know they are mine, and that makes me beyond happy.
