Anywho... You want to know what I've been up to? Not crafting all that much. I wish. I feel like I never have time anymore! Too much to do and not enough time to do it. I have been cleaning, and cooking, and being a good wifey, and trying to be a good friend. A couple of my dear friends are going through trials that make mine look like kindergarten math problems and helped me realize how grateful I am for my trials.
I know January is already more than halfway over, but I really want to share my resolutions with you.
1. I always make resolutions to loose weight and get thin, and it never happens, so that is NOT one of my resolutions. What IS one of my resolutions however, is to run a 5K. Not walk, RUN (or jog, because let's be honest, I don't really run). AND to do it without stopping.
The way I see it, this is kindof a more definitive deadline. And, if I'm preparing for a 5K, I'll be loosing weight in the process!
2. Earn my Young Women's Medallion.
Confused? Don't be. A Young Women's Medallion is a recognition that girls ages 12-18 can earn in "Personal Progress" in our church. It is a lengthy program with lots of different "experiences" you have to pass off, along with eight 10 hour projects corresponding with the eight Young Women's values, which are: faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue. Through the program you gain a stronger testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ and develop good habits to help you become more like Him. You can learn more about the program here. I want to be a mom more than anything in this world, and as the months have gone without my heart's desire being realized, what I realized is that I need to rely more on my Savior. SO, as a leader, I can also earn this recognition (which I already earned when I was a young woman) and I am going to do so this year so that I can grow closer to my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ.
Those are my goals! In addition to those two goals, I also chose a word to be my theme for the year. One of my favorite blogs, Less Cake {More Frosting} is doing this amazing series called "One Word."
She has had a ton of amazing guest bloggers sharing their one word and it has totally inspired me to choose a word that I want to be my theme for the year.
My word is FOCUS.
I want to focus my life on what is really important and eliminate those things that are not. I want to focus on my hubby and less on everything else that draws my attention. I want to focus on my friendships that fill my life with joy. I want to focus my efforts and develop my talents, especially my sewing. I want to focus my camera on beautiful people and things. I want to focus less on the disappointment (more like despair) each month, and more on the fun it is to try. I need to focus on saying "no" when I know my life is overloaded. And most importantly, I want to focus on my relationship with my Savior. I want to know him better, and I want to be more like him. I want to be a better version of myself, one that I can be proud of, one that is confident and comfortable in her own skin.

I LOVE your goals, and your word!!! If you ever want to go walking/jogging during the day I'd be happy to go with you (if you feel like adding a third walking day one week - I know you started an evening walking group twice a week). I'm hoping to work on earning my Personal Progress Medallion again this year also (I got inspired when I read your little pink Personal Progress book on the way to that Duck's game and am SUPER excited that our ward has invited the RS sisters to join in) so maybe we can do some of the experiences/projects together. =) You go girl! You can totally knock the socks off of your goals this year. =)
I just love you. So glad you are back. I am LOVING the idea of the 5k- that is brilliant giving yourself something more measurable!
Glad you're back! Love your one word goal. That's a great idea. Good luck with the 5K. Remember the one we "ran" freshman year?
So glad you're back! We need to do something together! It makes me sad that we don't see eachother twice a week. :( Great goals! My word this year is ORGANIZE! Love ya!
